丁度良いサイズ感のアイアンラック by takuroh shirafuji
最初にこのラックを視つけた時は地面に置かれていたのでマガジンラックだと思った。読みかけの雑誌やアートブックを納めておくのに丁度良いサイズ感だし、使わない時は折り畳んで立て掛けておいても様になる。
When I first saw this rack, I thought it was a magazine rack because it was placed on the ground. It's just the right size to store half-read magazines or art books, and it also looks good when folded up and propped up when not in use.
全体は鉄なのだけど、持ち手の赤い部分だけ木で出来ていて、持つ時には何かと都合が良い。そういう日常での使い勝手がこのラックに連想出来たので、仕入れることに決めてからバイヤーさんに声をかけた。話を聞いたらこのラックはパイラックとの事だった。パイラックとしても、もちろん良いのだけど個人的には最初位に書いた通りアートブックを収納したり、大皿や小さめのトレイなどを置いてアクセサリーなどの小物を陳列する什器にも良いかなと思ってます。
The entire rack is made of iron, with only the red handle made of wood, which is convenient for holding. This everyday usability reminded me of this rack, so after deciding to purchase it, I contacted the buyer. He told me that this rack is a pie rack. Of course, it's great as a pie rack, but personally, as I mentioned at the beginning, I think it would also be good for storing art books, or as a piece of furniture to display accessories and other small items on, such as large plates and smaller trays.
1919年から1933年までドイツで行われてた芸術とデザインの運動『バウハウス』がデザインしたインテリアの雰囲気があるなと思ったのだけど、どうやらフランスで仕入れたものらしいです。
I thought it had the atmosphere of interior design by the Bauhaus, the art and design movement that took place in Germany from 1919 to 1933, but it seems it was sourced in France.
