黒漆塗の蒔絵椀です。
吉兆模様として古くから親しまれてきた
「福良雀（ふくらすずめ）」の蒔絵が施されています。

ふっくらと丸みを帯びた雀は、
寒い冬を越え、福を招く象徴として
家内安全や子孫繁栄の願いが込められた意匠です。

漆ならではの黒色に、やわらかな金の蒔絵。
静かで上品な佇まいが、日々の食卓にそっと寄り添います。

蓋は小鉢のようにもお使いいただけるため、
吸い物椀としてはもちろん、煮物や雑煮、懐石料理など
日常使いからハレの日まで幅広くお使いいただけます。

漆器は、
温かいものは冷めにくく、冷たいものは温まりにくい特性があり、
一年を通して使い勝手のよいうつわです。
少量の中性洗剤でのお手入れも可能で、
使い込むほどに艶が増し、手に馴染んでいきます。

経年による擦り傷・塗り傷がございます。
また、高台部分に小さな漆の剥がれが見られます。

Traditional Lacquerware from Noto

Black Lacquer Soup Bowls with “Fukura-Suzume” Maki-e .

These traditional lacquer bowls come from the Noto region of Japan.
They feature Fukura-Suzume (plump sparrows), a classic auspicious motif in Japanese culture.

The round, softly shaped sparrows symbolize happiness, family safety,
and prosperity, and have long been cherished as a good-luck design.

The deep black lacquer and gentle gold maki-e decoration create
a calm and elegant presence, suitable for both everyday use and special occasions.

The lids can also be used as small bowls,
making them versatile for soups, simmered dishes, ozoni (New Year soup),
or refined Japanese meals.

Lacquerware naturally retains heat for warm dishes
and stays cool with cold foods, making it practical year-round.
With continued use, the surface develops a richer sheen and character over time.

Condition

There are signs of age, including small scratches and wear to the lacquer.
A minor area of lacquer loss can be seen on the foot of the bowl.
These details reflect the age and history of the piece.
